BECOMING A MEMBER 

 

MOHNIG Offers Two Types of Membership:

>>Regular Membership for RNs Who Practice in Manitoba

>>Affiliate Membership for RNs Who Practice Outside of Manitoba**

Regular Membership

Regular MOHNIG membership is open to any interested RN currently registered with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM). Annual membership dues are $30 to be paid in full at the first fall educational event of the season - typically in October or November.

​

The Value of Regular MOHNIG Membership:

  • A built-in forum for professional networking, learning, and development

  • Opportunity to apply for MOHNIG funded educational bursaries toward OHN certification

  • Automatic membership with the Canadian Nurses Association (CNA) along with full access to the members' only area of the Canadian Occupational Health Nurses Association (COHNA) website (e.g. bursaries, awards & national networking)

  • Full online access to MOHNIG members area including a membership directory, direct links to regional job postings and much more!

Affiliate Membership

Not a practicing RN in Manitoba? No problem, we offer Associate Memberships to anyone with a self-expressed interest toward the advancement occupational health nursing. Associate members enjoy all the same networking and educational benefits as full members except that associate members cannot hold MOHNIG office or vote. Associate members also cannot be members of COHNA or CNA through MOHNIG. We strive to be an inclusive organization aimed at bringing together OHS stakeholders to the same table. Anyone passionate about improving workplace health and safety in Manitoba is encouraged to join our ranks of associate members. Associate membership dues cost $XX to be paid each fall. Stakeholders likely to benefit the most from MOHNIG associate membership include:

  • Employer and union representatives

  • Other certified workplace health and safety experts

  • Workplace health and safety committee co-chairs

  • Undergraduate nursing students interested in a career in occupational health nursing

  • RNs who practice outside the province and/or lack access to a provincial OHN association

  • Newcomers to Manitoba who are in the in the process of completing their CRNM registration
